I recently attended a Craft & Hobby Association Convention (CHA), in Anaheim, California, with my friend from Australia.

Julie and I spent a week looking at new craft product and then she came home with me to San Diego for two weeks.  Of course, we crafted every day and Julie enjoys creating her own backgrounds using Lasting Impressions’ Templates.  I thought you might enjoy seeing what she does with one simple template (L9023), four different ways.

If you look real close you can see that Julie used the same template for her background on the thank you card above.  The wording is L.I. #S582.

Here you can see the background more clearly in this second version.

On this third version Julie used embossing paste and flocking on top of acetate.  Once the paste was dry, she cut around the design and painted it from the backside using acrylic paint.  She then mounted it on the card.  She also used a Thank You Senti-mental.

Here’s Julie’s 4th card.  Once again the background is embossed.  The template is then laid on double sided sticky paper, embossed with paste and glittered.  Once dry, she mounted it on the background paper and added the Sent-mental.

You can see more of Julie’s techniques and cards on her web site at:

Thank you so much, Julie, for your wonderful ideas!  Please come back to us soon.

Embossing joys, 🙂  Donna
