THE THRILL OF NEW "TOYS"

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Okay, so call me crazy, but I love it when Lasting Impressions comes out with new toys for me to play with.  Here’s just a sample of the fun I’ve been having the last couple of days with new paper and new templates.  First I did a Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day verion of this card using #L9274, #L9221, #L9757, and #L9756.  I cut the zig-zag from the new Chevron cardstock and I dabbed Distress Ink on the embossed Chevrons in the Powdered Sugar (white) cardstock background.  It’s very simple to use Colored Impressions Software for the wording inside the sentiment bubble.  Notice I also layered the zig-zag border on the bottom of each card and faux stitched it on the Father’s Day Card.  I really like the look of the faux stitching:

Next I used a Nestibility (Grand Labels Twenty-Three) for my basic A2 card, and templates #L9143 (chair) and #L9302 (crown).  I’m in love with the new “Dotty Dots” cardstock!

I love L.I.’s Tie Template, #L9749, and I came up with this idea for a Father’s Day card, but you could also use it for a masculine birthday card:

I used the following new cardstocks (and some older), but truly you can use any of the new papers and they are all wonderful with each other, and they are delightful to work with:

Lamp Post Solid, Stripe, and Lamp Post Limeaide Dots; Raspberry Cream Stripes, Solid, and Chevron; Watering Can Dotty Dots; Lily Pad Chevron and Solid; Sunflower Circles; Powdered Sugar; Caribbean Solid and Dotty Dots; and, Kumquat Dotty Dots.  I hope you will enjoy using the new cardstock and templates as much as I have.  I have more to share later this week.  So stay tuned!  Embossing joys, 🙂 Donna
